The VR Project:
Innovative VR Application for Hand Rehabilitation

In collaboration with Thomas More Mobilab & Care, I worked on the VR Hand Rehabilitation project, aimed at developing an innovative Virtual Reality (VR) application for hand rehabilitation. This project combined technology and therapy to support patients in their recovery through interactive and motivating virtual exercises.

My Contribution:

My main responsibilities within this project were setting up the VR application in full, including the hand tracking and building the virtual environment. This involved making sure the hand tracking worked seamlessly on a technical level, so patients could perform their movements accurately in the virtual world. I also designed and set up the environments so that they were inviting and effective for the rehabilitation exercises.

Lessons and Takeaways:

This project gave me valuable insight into the possibilities of VR technology in healthcare. I learned how important it is to combine precision, technical expertise and a patient-centred approach in order to create an effective rehabilitation application.

The Final Result:

The result was a personalised, interactive VR application that supports patients in their hand rehabilitation. We successfully developed a platform that speeds up the recovery process and increases patient engagement.
