FiveM (GTA V Roleplay) Scripts for Origin Roleplay
Table of contents:
What is FiveM?
FiveM is a modification platform for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) that lets players play multiplayer on custom servers. It allows players to create their own gaming experiences within the world of GTA V, with various game modes and features that differ from the standard multiplayer mode (GTA Online).
Key features of FiveM include:
- Custom servers: Players can create their own servers or join servers with custom rules, game modes and environments. These servers can range from role-playing (RP) communities to races, zombie survival games, or simply free roaming.
- Mods and scripts: FiveM allows the use of mods, scripts and extra content that GTA Online does not support. Server administrators can add custom cars, weapons, maps and other modifications to enrich the game.
- Roleplaying (RP): One of the most popular uses of FiveM is for GTA RP (roleplaying) servers, where players step into the shoes of different characters and recreate real-life scenarios, such as police work, being a criminal, or working as an emergency responder within the GTA V world. Some of these servers have strict roleplay rules.
- Server scripting: FiveM supports scripting in Lua and C#, which gives developers the ability to create highly customisable gaming experiences. This can include setting up an economic structure or a job system, for example.
- Synchronisation and stability: Unlike traditional multiplayer mods, FiveM works to maintain synchronisation between players, which makes for a more stable and smoother gaming experience.
Who is Origin Roleplay?
Origin Roleplay is a FiveM roleplay server that offers a semi-realistic gaming experience in an American setting. The server runs on the QBox framework and is known for its customisable and stable systems, allowing players to take part in a wide range of activities such as working for the police, medical services or running their own businesses. There are also custom cars, clothing and an advanced economic system, where players can develop their characters and stories.
The team behind Origin Roleplay actively works on improving the server through regular updates and bug fixes. They aim for a friendly and engaged community with no room for toxic behaviour.
The server also offers various illegal activities, such as robberies and drug trafficking, as well as more structured jobs like police officer or paramedic. Origin Roleplay caters to both experienced and new players, and encourages everyone to find their own role in the game.
What do I do?
As a developer at Origin Roleplay and Horizon Life Roleplay, I focus on building scripts with a user interface (UI) that are essential to certain features on the server. Examples include a laptop system, a car dealership system, and an administrative menu in the game. These systems need a visual interface so players can navigate easily and carry out specific tasks, such as managing vehicle sales, handling in-game administrative matters, or using a laptop for communication and other assignments.
Although I have also developed other scripts, such as the GoPostal delivery job and the electrician, those have no UI. For those jobs the interactions are focused more on direct actions in the game world without needing a visual menu. My focus, however, is mainly on developing user-friendly UIs to make interaction as intuitive as possible for players and to make the server feel more dynamic.
Examples
Below you will find a few examples of scripts I have built:
- Police and Ambulance Bodycam UI
- Description: A user interface (UI) for bodycams that can be used in-game by police and ambulance staff. It allows video recordings to be displayed and documented while playing.

- Shop UI
- Description: A user interface for an in-game shop. This UI allows players to browse and buy items within a virtual store environment.

- Power Pole Repair Job
- Description: A script for an in-game job where players have to repair power poles. This script covers the missions, tasks and interactions involved in fixing faulty power poles.

- Laptop UI with Various Apps
- Description: This in-game laptop user interface gives access to a range of apps, including a Gang Management App for managing gang activities, members and resources, and a Car Dealership Management App for managing vehicle sales, stock and customer interactions in a dealership environment.

- Car Dealership UI
- Description: A user interface for car dealerships that lets regular players search for vehicles, pick colours and view detailed information about the cars available. This UI offers an interactive way to explore and choose vehicles within a virtual dealership environment.

How I built these FiveM scripts:
I developed the scripts using a combination of technologies to build both the back-end and the front-end of the user interfaces. The scripts are mainly built with Lua for the server- and client-side logic in FiveM, which is essential for writing scripts and managing in-game interactions.
For the user interfaces (UIs) I used React. React allows me to build dynamic and interactive UI components that integrate seamlessly with the FiveM environment. To improve the look and design of the UI elements, I applied Tailwind CSS, which delivers a streamlined and responsive style without much effort.
I also used ShadCN for certain UI elements. ShadCN offers ready-made components and styles that help create a consistent and attractive user interface, which contributes to a better gaming experience.
This FiveM server was founded on 20 August 2024. Before it was set up, I had already been building various things on my own and gaining experience developing scripts and features. That earlier experience helped me refine my skills and improve the quality of the scripts now running on the server.
Developing this server and its scripts is of course a team effort. We work together to continuously improve and expand the server, and to offer a rich and immersive experience to our players. More scripts and features will be added in the future, and the team keeps working continuously on innovations and improvements.
